Automatic straightening of lines and colors

If printed vertical lines are distorted or colors are not properly aligned, run Print head alignment and adjust the position of the print head.

Choose between Automatic (standard) (Auto (standard)) and Automatic (fine) (Auto (fine)) to automatically align the print head.

Minor distortions and misaligned colors can usually be improved using the Auto (standard) option. If there is no improvement, use the Auto (fine) or Manual option.

If you use the Auto (standard) or Auto (fine) option, the adjustment pattern is printed and the printhead position is automatically aligned based on the print result.

Important

– If the problem, such as misaligned lines, is noticeable, or another problem, such as color unevenness, is not solved after performing print head alignment, perform print head angle adjustment and then perform print head alignment again.

Adjustment of line alignment

When using single sheets, do not move the release lever until instructions (guide) to remove the paper are displayed. Moving the release lever during printing-. Maintenance procedures bring the printer to a standstill.

Perform print head alignment after replacing the print head. If for samples according to print.Out. Print. (Print pattern after new head) option is set to ON, the print head position adjustment is performed automatically after the print head is replaced. Use the Automatic (fine) option (Auto (fine)) to obtain high quality printouts. – If alignment is not possible as expected when using special paper, try using a different paper type or the Manual setting.

Carry out the setting as follows.

1. Load the paper to be printed on.

Important

Always make sure that the paper loaded matches the type of paper specified in the printer. The adjustment can only be completed without errors when the paper loaded corresponds to the settings.

2. On the HOME screen, tap

(Setup)> Maintenance.

Touchscreen

The Maintenance screen is displayed.

3. Tap on print head alignment (Print head alignment).

4. Tap Automatic (standard) (Auto (standard)) or Automatic (fine) (Auto (fine)).

A confirmation message is displayed.

5. Tap Yes (Yes).

The paper feed settings screen is displayed.

6. Tap on Roll paper (Roll paper) or on Manual (Manual).

A test pattern is printed for alignment.

Note

If you print on single sheets smaller than A2, a confirmation message is displayed on the touchscreen prompting you to continue printing. Tap OK and follow the instructions on the touch screen.
