Buy a mountain bike
Find your mountain bike in the region Erlangen, Fürth, Nuremberg !
Riding a bike in Nuremberg, Erlangen and Fürth does not always mean city tours through the city and on paved roads. Sometimes there's just nothing like an adventurous ride up the Moritzberg or through the Hammerbach Valley. But for this you need the right bike: a mountain bike!
Your mountain bike is waiting in our bike shop
What actually makes a mountain bike more off-road than a city or trekking bike? The biggest difference is probably the tires: They are particularly wide and grippy and therefore provide optimal grip on forest soil and uneven terrain.
The comparatively small frame of a mountain bike is particularly stable, so that it can withstand small jumps and shocks well. Still, it's relatively lightweight, in case you need to carry the bike over overly rough terrain.
Mountain bike purchase: Fully or Hardtail?
Because you get a good shaking on the way through forests and over gravel roads, mountain bikes have at least one suspension fork with shock absorbers as a standard feature. If the bike has front suspension only, it is called a hardtail, mountain bikes that also have rear suspension are called fullys. The latter is essential when they are on the road in heavy terrain. For those who ride mainly on paved roads and light forest trails, a good hardtail is enough.
In addition to this rough classification, there are various subgroups in the world of mountain bikes, from the all-rounder variant All Mountain to the so-called Freeride: a mountain bike designed essentially for fast shooting down the mountain.
Personal advice on buying a mountain bike
But which of the many mountain bike types is the best for you personally? It all depends on what you intend to do with it. Our employees – all of them passionate cyclists themselves – listen very carefully to what you would like to experience with your new mountain bike and then decide together with you which one suits you best.
We carry a wide range of mountain bikes, from entry-level variants like the road-ready Bulls Sharptail Street to pro bikes like the Bulls Copperhead 3 with XT Shimano equipment. In our bike store in Erlangen everyone finds his bike.
