The goal is to provide a PLM solution, especially for small and medium businesses, that can be implemented quickly and will pay for itself in a short period of time. On its own show stage, the mechanical engineering department will present how easy and intuitive PLM can be implemented using the current products Autodesk Inventor Series and Autodesk Streamline. In addition, Autodesk and its partners will present the entire portfolio of mechanical engineering, architecture and construction, and geographic information systems at 36 workstations. Autodesk Buzzsaw presents its latest software version, which will be released in spring 2003. Discreet, a division of Autodesk, presents 3ds max 5, the latest version of its award-winning animation software. In addition, there will be free taster courses for Autodesk Inventor again this year.

The keyword at CeBIT 2003 is PLM. Many CAD manufacturers strain this word without filling it with content and thus unsettle their customers. Autodesk defines PLM and shows what's behind it. "For Autodesk," explains Burkhard Hörnig, Senior Product Manager MCAD, "PLM means the cross-departmental use of product data. PLM from Autodesk stands for fast customer benefits at low costs and short implementation time."

Free Autodesk Inventor taster courses

Due to the great demand last year, visitors can again register directly at the trade fair for the free professional courses at nine workstations without any obligation to do so. Attendees can experience the intuitive technology of Autodesk Inventor in 45 minutes under the guidance of application engineers. Analogous to the Product Lifecycle Management also the area architecture stands. Construction industry at Autodesk's CeBIT appearance under the sign of integrated processes. Autodesk Architectural Desktop is not only used for the construction of buildings, but can also be used as a building information model for building lifecycle management. Another focus is on Autodesk Architectural Desktop's creative partner, Autodesk Architectural Studio. Allows design drawings to be created digitally as sketches or in 3D models directly with a pen and tablet.

Autodesk Buzzsaw at CeBIT

The latest version of Autodesk Buzzsaw will be available in spring 2003. The focus of development here was on the project management functions.

The goal is to optimize on-time control and coordination of activities within a project. In addition, project reporting has been enhanced with features such as the Executive Report.

GIS at Autodesk

With Autodesk Map Series, GIS professionals have a software for efficient project management, which is composed of three applications: Autodesk Map for creating and maintaining maps and geospatial data; Autodesk OnSite Desktop for easily visualizing, analyzing, and presenting 2D and 3D spatial-geographic data; and Autodesk Raster Design for incorporating drawing assets into digital planning, design, and construction processes. With the integrated suite, geospatial data can be created, queried and maintained more efficiently.
