September 2021, we cycled from Augsburg to IAA in Munich. As part of the big bicycle star ride, we demonstrated for sustainable mobility, effective climate protection and a real traffic turnaround. The tour was a great success. A great experience. With about 200 cyclists we started early at 8 in Augsburg. On the way, people have joined our demo again and again. Many waved to us at the roadside. After 74km we are then around 14.30 arrived together with 1000s of others at Theresienwiese. From the rain showers at the end, we have not let the good mood take away.
The AZ reported in detail about the demo. Also via the relay that cycled with us from Frankfurt via Augsburg to Munich.
Current information and route planning can be found at www.Iaa-demo.De/sternfahrt The rally will approach Munich in a star shape from all directions, in parts via highways and the Mittlerer Ring, and will end with a joint rally in the center of Munich.

Alliance calls for mobility turnaround now!
The action alliance criticizes: "Shortly before the Bundestag elections, the car lobby wants to give itself a green coat of paint at the IAA. But BMW, Volkswagen, Daimler and Co. Earn. Still making their money with much too fat cars that suffocate life in the cities. And as if the climate crisis did not exist, there is still a combustion engine in most of them. We do not want to accept that! Instead of token presentations, car companies need to shift their entire production to smaller, climate-friendly vehicles. The next federal government must accelerate this changeover with a transport policy that consistently relies on cycling, walking and public transport. This also includes the halving of car traffic."
Therefore, the action alliance makes itself strong for:
– Fair distribution of public space with priority given to walking, cycling and public transport
– Well-developed, affordable public transport, for everyone and always
– Halving car traffic and climate neutrality in transport by 2035
– Immediate phase-out of the internal combustion engine, no plug-in hybrids and large E-SUVs
– Immediately stop the planning and construction of new highways and federal roads
– A general maximum speed of 120 km/h on highways, 80 km/h outside towns and a standard speed of 30 km/h inside towns
About the alliance
The action alliance from the General German Bicycle Club e.V. Federation for the environment. Nature Conservation Germany e.V.V. (BUND), Campact, the German Environmental Aid (DUH), Greenpeace, Friends of Nature of Germany and the ecological transport club VCD had already come together in 2019 to peacefully protest against the last IAA held in Frankfurt. New this year is the globalization-critical network Attac. The alliance of environmental and transport associations calls for a real mobility turnaround with significantly reduced car traffic and much more walking, cycling and public transport.
