A winemaker in body and soul
Born weberbauer from nordheim, celebrates this friday, 20. April, her 80th. Birthday. The jubilarian received congratulations from her husband otto, her children gabriele, norbert, armin and stephen, their spouses and four grandchildren. Paula rauch looks back on a busy life. Her cradle was in neuses am berg, where she was born as the daughter of Barbara and Hermann Weberbauer, who were married to winemakers. After attending elementary school, vocational school and home economics school, she learned vineyard work on her parents’ farm. In 1963, she tied the knot with nordheim winemaker otto rauch. Together, the couple built up a respectable winegrowing business. The jubilarian is proud of the fact that in 1984, for the first time in the history of the nordheim winegrowing community, a "Hofschoppenfest" was organized at the rauch winery. "i had the privilege of welcoming guests at more than twenty events," reports rauch. For the winemaker with body and soul, the word vacation is almost a foreign word. Only a three-day family Christmas vacation has been treated to for years. For the jubilarian, the career development of the children is very important. "they have all achieved something," says rauch, who still shows great interest in what is going on around the world. Studying the daily newspaper is also an integral part of the 80-year-old’s daily routine. Text: walter braun
